Tanteo Tequila today has announced the passing of its CEO and Co-Founder, Jonathan Rojewski, due to a tragic accident that took place in Colorado last week. Rojewski passed away from his injuries late Friday evening. He was 40 years old.
“We are shocked and deeply saddened by Jonathan’s passing,” said Rojewski’s Co-Founder, David Campbell. “His passion, creativity, authenticity and
uncompromising pursuit of perfection are written on the walls of our New York headquarters, Casa Tanteo, and they are in the bottle– he improved
upon our formula with every one of the 30 batches he made. His values will
forever remain the cornerstone of our mission. I speak on behalf of the
Tanteo employees and all who contribute to our success on a daily basis when
I say that we will work tirelessly to fulfill Jonathan’s dreams for Tanteo
and to honor his leadership in the spirits industry.”
Rojewski was a Maryland native who found great success in all of his
endeavors, from division-one college soccer at Loyola University to the
culinary arts, equity research on Wall Street and most certainly in the
spirits industry, where he served for seven years as Tanteo’s CEO.
“Jonathan was a great man, family member and friend. He will be missed by
all who knew him.” said Campbell. Tanteo’s Board has announced that David Campbell will serve as Chief Executive Officer, and Neil Grossup as Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.
