Culinary Collective has added two new products to its extensive line of foods from Spain. This summer, under its Matiz España line, Culinary Collective adds Sardinillas with piquillo peppers and Arvum Balsamic Sauce.
Sardinillas with piquillo peppers are young sardines tinned with rich spicy-sweet piquillo peppers from Navarra, an autonomous community in northern Spain. These young sardines are harvested using traditional methods that respect the biological cycles of the species and avoid harm to other sea creatures. Sardinillas are nutrient rich and are prized for their plump and tender texture. They are a treat right out of the can, in salads or on sandwiches. This simple and healthy snack’s only ingredients are sardines, olive oil, piquillo peppers and salt. MSRP: $4.75 for 3 oz tin
Arvum Balsamic Sauce is a sherry vinegar balsamic sauce made from the must reduction of Palomino and Muscat grapes combined with sherry vinegar from Andalucia, Spain. It has a silky texture and flavors of licorice, dried fruits and caramel. It is recommended for use in sauces and salad dressings or in fruit-based desserts. The rich structure of the sherry vinegar adds a complexity to this balsamic sauce that others do not have. This product has earned Culinary Collective’s Rooted Food designation, meaning it is an authentic, native food created by a small, community-based producer. MSRP: $12.99 for 8.8 fl oz bottle
