Beginning in Fall 2014, Sandos Playacar Beach Experience Resort is opening up its kitchens to guests who want a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to feed up to 2,500 guests a day. This new Kitchen Tour provides visitors a sneak peek at the hotel’s extensive culinary facilities and food preparation areas, where hard work and dedication are combined to create each and every dish at the resort’s 12 restaurants and café. From room service and snacks to sushi dinners and bountiful buffets, Sandos Playacar’s Kitchen Tour brings guests into the “Heart of the House” and demonstrates how hospitality is done right at this all-inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen.
During the tour, Sandos’ chefs inform participants about the standards and procedures followed during the food preparation process, and escort visitors through each of the hotel’s cooking areas: the main kitchen, hot and cold kitchens, the bakery, meat prep areas, 24-hour room service area, the breakfast kitchen, walk-in freezers, recycling areas and more.
Guests will experience everything from proper hand washing techniques to live cooking demonstrations while being entertained with fun facts and outstanding statistics about the inner workings of an all-inclusive food & beverage program. Along the way, guests will meet the hotel’s Executive Chef and enjoy several mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres from the different onsite restaurants and will experience quick cooking demonstrations from the chefs.
