ProWein 2017: Unique Exhibits & Program for International Wine Sector
ProWein 2017, International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, is setting new standards: trade visitors will meet more than 6,300 exhibitors from 60 nations, including all relevant winegrowing regions of the world – a total of 295 – plus some 400 spirits specialties. The event will take place from March 19 – 21, 2017 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
About half of the exhibitors will come from France and Italy. Like other countries, they will be represented by all relevant wine regions – from the Abruzzi to Veneto and from Bordeaux to the Sud-Ouest. Other top exhibitor nations will include Germany, the New World, Spain, Austria and Portugal. Numerous new discoveries will include the Dos Hemisferios winery from Ecuador, Pico Wines from the Azores and the Turnau winery from Poland. Celebrating its premiere will be the Asian Wine Producers’ Association uniting a variety of Asian wine makers. The already well-established segment of organic wines and international organic associations is seeing further growth, also with the “Organic World” special show featuring some 30 international exhibitors, mainly from Europe.
ProWein’s ancillary program is also taking shape: numerous tasting sessions are planned in the extended ProWein Forum in Hall 13 as well as in Hall 10 or directly at the exhibitors’ stands. The line-up will range from nationally oriented tasting sessions to multi-origin combinations like the tasting zone of the international wine prize MUNDUS VINI. Other highlights will include the worldwide unique Champagne Lounge featuring 40 Champagne producers. This lounge will be located in the center of the Champagne segment which will include 150 other brands. At the “same but different” special show 10 companies will present unusual wine and spirits production and marketing concepts. Another special show at ProWein 2017 will focus on packaging and design.
