June 11 marks the opening of the Kennedy Rooftop, 1551 West North Avenue, Chicago’s newest rooftop venue complete with unobstructed city views that span from the John Hancock to the Willis Tower. Aptly named as it is situated just off the Kennedy Expressway atop the brand-new Hyatt Place Chicago / Wicker Park, the venue will pay homage to the trendy, modern fabric that makes up its surroundings through everything from the fresh, sensational design and décor to the vibrant craft cocktail menu. The 7,500 square foot oasis will house ample indoor and outdoor seating, fire pits, outdoor games including life-size Jenga and more for guests to enjoy. Due to restrictions from the local government in the city’s current phase of re-opening, Kennedy Rooftop will begin service offering limited seating in their spacious outdoor lounge area.
7,500-Square-Foot Oasis with Indoor & Outdoor Seating, Games, and Fire Pits
At its core, Kennedy Rooftop will serve as a chic, urban hub for the community, all the while highlighting the unique culture and ambience of the neighborhood. Donning bright orange and blue hues throughout, the splashy design makes for endless photo opportunities and creates a lively ambiance that adds to the fun. The entrance of the venue will share space with the hotel’s seventh-floor lobby, decorated with vibrant works that have been thoughtfully crafted by local Chicago artists.
Honoring its namesake, the rooftop bar will offer a craft cocktail menu that plays off of Presidents past. Most notably, “The JFK” will be a rotating cocktail released monthly, as Kennedy himself was famous for never having nailed down a signature drink. Among others include “Reagan’s Orange Blossom,” comprised of Ketel One Orange Botanical Vodka, fresh Orange juice, lemon, simple syrup, Orange bitters and club soda, and the “The FDR,” made with Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum, Giffard Abricot, fresh lime, simple syrup, Q Ginger Beer and Myers Rum Float.
