KBX Logistics LLC and Georgia-Pacific, two companies of Koch Industries, Inc., today each received SmartWay® Excellence Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for being leaders in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency. The EPA presented the award to KBX for its superior performance in logistics while Georgia-Pacific won the award for its excellence in shipping.

KBX’s sustainability goals each year include continuing to meet and striving to exceed the standards of the EPA’s SmartWay program, growing backhaul to reduce deadhead and emissions, increasing intermodal shipping, experimenting and innovating to reduce its carbon footprint, and reducing driver dwell time at loading and unloading locations.
