Ice Link has made its initial foray into the Casino properties of Las Vegas. The Orange, California based company that is revolutionizing the “ICE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY” recently completed an installation at the Cravings Buffet at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. “The Mirage recently embarked on a remodel program of their primary buffet restaurant”, said Ice Link President Michael Busch. “They wanted to introduce customer self-service beverage stations throughout the dining area to eliminate the need for staff serving beverages to their diners.”
Ice Link was able to alleviate their primary concern, the need to install noisy top mounted ice machines on the five drink dispensers needed in the restaurant dining area. Ice Link also eliminates ongoing maintenance and shortage of ice due to the small footprint available on top of the drink dispensers. The Mirage was also looking for an ice supply solution that addressed both the aesthetics of the self-serve concept in the dining room and the high demands for ice during peak periods. Ice Link provided the perfect solution. Desirée Williams – Facilities Project Manager – The Mirage “We are pleased with the customer service and the production of the Ice Link system in The Cravings Buffet at The Mirage”, said Desirée Williams, Facilities Project Manager at the Mirage. “When we decided to add the self-serve feature with our beverages; the main concern was keeping up with the demand of the ice for our guests. There were several options we explored to keep the beverage machines filled with ice.
Ice Link was the final choice with the best option for the demand of The Cravings Buffet at The Mirage. It has been approximately two months since the completion of the installation and we are able to keep up with over 4000 guests per day dining at The Cravings Buffet with no complications with the Ice Link system.” The two Ice Link systems installed transport cubed ice to five Coke Freestyle beverage dispensing machines in the Cravings Buffett Restaurant in the Mirage. The five Coke Freestyle machines are located within five separate self- serve beverage stations in the customer dining area which feeds upwards of 4,000 customers a day. Added Busch “Ice Link allows those in the food and beverage business to transport ice in a safe and sanitary manner while also reducing labor costs, risk of injury and the need to buy multiple top mounted ice machines. Ice Link uses a patented vacuum delivery system to transport ice faster than it can be made or consumed, to various ice use points within a restaurant or bar, fast food outlet, movie theatre, arena or convention center.”
