Christina Milian

Over the past 20 years, Christina Milian has gone from singer to entrepreneur with everything else in between that you could imagine. Working in an industry that thrives on mistakes, Milian has stayed positive and relevant making everything she touches turn to gold.

By the time she reached her twenties, Christina Milian was already one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. During that time she received two Grammy nominations, 3 singles in the Billboard Hot 100 chart, two #3 songs in the UK top 40, plus nominations by the Teen Choice Awards. Though it took four years for Milian to get her first job, she was immediately signed by Walt Disney to be the junior reporter of Disney Channel’s “Movie Surfers”. Liking this on-screen job, she agreed to make a brief appearance in one of the episodes of TV series “Sister, Sister”. Not wanting to waste her musical talent, in 2000 she provided her melodious voice to Ja Rule‘s first single “Between Me and You”. Already known for her capability in singing and writing songs, her name as a prominent singer was never as sonorous as when she released the single “AM to PM” in 2001. The catchy lines and up-pumping rhythm became the top song in her self-titled album. It instantly sat on top 40 of U.S. Billboard Hot 100, smashed top 10 in Netherlands and reigned top 5 in U.K. and Denmark. Her career was inevitably uprising and the next year she released her second single “Whatever You Want” which still came from her self-titled album.

On February 26, 2010, Milian gave birth to their daughter Violet Madison Nash. Shortly after, NBC announced in October, 2010 that the Milian would serve as the official Social Media Correspondent for The Voice. With a high demand for return of Christina’s music, February 2012, Lil Wayne said that Christina Milian had joined Young Money, and will release her fourth album through Young Money Entertainment. Milian is currently recording her fourth album. In September 2013, Milian became a contestant on Dancing with the Stars season 17. She was partnered with professional dancer Mark Ballas. She was eliminated in week five despite receiving the highest score of the night. In February 2014, “Video Model,” Milian’s first single since joining hip hop’s premiere hit makers, is on the newly released Young Money compilation, Rise of An Empire.

Beyond her stardom, Milian has been working on her entrepreneurial side creating, working with and building multiple brands. In April 2013, Christina attended GBK MTV Movie Awards Gifting Suites which were sponsored by Viva Diva Wines. Brand publicist, Robyn Santiago of Illumination PR was on site and in search of a face for the brand. Christina and Robyn met and agreed that Christina would in fact be the perfect fit for Viva Diva Brands. In June, Christina not only became brand ambassador but also, a partner in the brand. Christina’s involvement over the last year has taken the brand into over 20 states of distribution and growing. Christina co-hosted the launch party at NoMa Social in Westchester, NY last year alongside Perez Hilton and made several appearances on behalf of Viva Diva Wines, meeting fans, signing bottles and meeting buyers from top chains. Around the same time that Christina got involved with Viva, she also partnered with fiance Jas Prince and another partner to start Platinum E Hookahs which are portable electronic hookahs that resemble an electronic cigarette but emit vapor. It uses a battery operated heating element to vaporize a flavored liquid that you inhale but it still manages to be a very smoking-like experience. E Hookahs are 100% free of nicotine, ash, tar, charcoal, and smoke and are currently sold in a selection of 5 different flavors: Strawberry, Grape, Green Apple, Mint and Cherry. Berry. Milian’s last and most recent brand is Shelby Star. Shelby star is the brainchild of singing media Super Star and producer/manager Carmen Milian.  Shelby is an “alter ego” of sorts and is an animated musical artist, along with her band-mates/friends. Shelby Star is the ultimate role model, friend, teacher, mentor and entertainer and in their world, teaching and learning is done through music.
