Chef Joel McLendon To Lead Dining Experience at Soundside Beach Club & Grill
MERRY HILL, N.C., July 23, 2015 The Soundside Beach Club & Grill, a casual dining restaurant at Scotch Hall Preserve, announces the hiring of Chef Joel F. McLendon. Chef McLendon brings over 20 years of culinary experience to his new post.
Having worked as an executive chef in a variety of impressive restaurants from Asheville, North Carolina to Bangkok, Thailand, Chef McLendon brings with him a unique blend of experience, talent, education and innovation. McLendon is known for his passion for serving fresh, imaginative food and fusing food styles from around the world.
“We chose Chef McLendon to lead the dining experience at Scotch Hall Preserve because his experience and talent will create a dining experience that is both approachable and memorable. And one that is certainly equal to the quality of our view. Our customers are going to truly enjoy what he creates for them,” said Mark Donachie, general manager, Scotch Hall Preserve.
The Soundside Beach Club & Grill, sitting on the banks of the majestic Albemarle Sound, is the only restaurant in Bertie County with a true water view. Guests enjoy casual dining in a patio setting with incredible views of the Sound. The new menu will feature hearty sandwiches, Black Angus burgers, seasonal market sides and have daily specials.
“Our goal is to source from local farms and focus on fresh ingredients. We wanted to create a menu that featured local favorites, simple fare and beloved comfort foods as well as fun specials like Bangers and Mash Thursdays and Taco Tuesdays. We hope to offer something for everyone and become a local favorite,” said McLendon.
Soundside Beach Club & Grill is located at 105 Scotch Hall Court, Merry Hill and open Tuesday through Sunday from 10am to 7pm.
